About the Dyer Family

Jack and Tammy Dyer have worked and raised their two children in the great city of Fort Wayne, Indiana, since 1973. They have found their lives enriched when they can work with others, to serve others, with the goal of creating a greater sense of well-being for all.

Over the years, they have served in numerous volunteer roles and in 2001 established the Dyer Family Foundation, which contributes to nearly 100 non-profits annually.

U.S. Department of Commerce states that: “Greater capital access for minority-owned businesses is essential to sustain their growth, reduce unemployment levels, and in particular the high rate of unemployment in minority communities.”

The Dyers believe that minority-owned businesses can be the engine of employment in emerging minority communities and that business growth depends on acquiring the capital they need to expand and improve their businesses.

Jack and Tammy said, “Much like we were given the support we needed over our lifetime to achieve our personal and financial happiness and success, we now wish to publicly express our heartfelt appreciation for that support by offering financial support to others, primarily, black entrepreneur business owners.”

It is their hope that the Dyer Grant Program for Black-Owned Businesses can be seen as a forward leading encouragement, like the African symbol suggests…that Supports, creating a Strategy that leads to Success.  Our program motto:  Support, Strategy, Success.
